in motion, 14 1/2 x 57 1/2” oil on portrait linen, as she looked at the end of my painting day today

6/15/25: in motion has transformed over the past week. it began 5 days ago as a horizontal composition with 5 figures who, as the title suggests, were engaged in various dance moves, with a central skateboarder.

two days ago, it became a vertical compositin, with a dancer at the top and various whited over figures below, all in motion.

today, inspired by a photo i shot a few years back, there’s a female figure at the top and beneath that two circular mirrors with myself reflected , and a table with bowls and some coffee cups.

but what am i saying here? i’m totally contradicting myself , when what i really feel is that this above all a composition, consisting of brush strokes in oil on portrait linen. yes, there are recognizable figures and objects….
