12:59 PM: i was able to do a bit of work on gaze 34 today, before going back to the house to complete my packing. the face, neck & scarf have begun to take form, and will have to wait for our return to progress to the next stage. i'm taking it very slow, building on the earth toned ground i applied yesterday. the bright background will be toned down, but i'd like to keep the face as simple as possible, closer to some byzantine prototypes i have in mind.
