11:02 am: on the way to my studio, i photographed one of the vast number of crestone conglomerate rocks on our land. this formation is very rare and was formed 300 million years ago, although some of the rocks you see melded together here are much older. here's a link to an article about it in our local monthly paper, the crestone eagle.

today is overcast with a good chance of rain later in the day. we'll drive to salida; about 60 miles over poncha pass, around 3. i have a dr. appointment, but we're mainly thinking of it as a celebration. we have mostly completed work on writing & proofing the actionlab curriculum, which took a couple of years. we plan on going to moonlight pizza; the best in salida for dinner. they also have an in house brewery with superb beers. before heading out, i'll continue work on parade 51 and post pics as they become available.
