continuing work on parade 49 / nu? vas machst du? / by Philip Tarlow

2:37 pm gotta get ready to drive to alamosa; ON THE LEFT: parade 49 at the end of my work day...one more thing, while working on this painting a little while ago, i had the following experience:

whenever i put the brush to the canvas, i instantly saw a specific geographic location, as if i were there. as soon as i removed the brush from the canvas, it disappeared. i tested it out, and it was very consistent. your thoughts?

1:15 pm:   SO NU? vas machst du??

current state of parade 49; working in spite of numerous interruptions....we have to drive to alamosa at 3:30, so i need to stop work about 2:30 to clean up & post to this blog. let's see what i can do in an hour.

had a good call from one of the gremillion sales staff about work for a client; gotta get on it & find the pieces that fit the size he needs, put'em in a folder & send them off via dropbox. did i hear somebody say they wanted to be my assistant?

12:04 pm: starting work with one of my favorite brushes, made by escoda in barcelona.

8:55 am: i'll be at my studio around 11 to continue work on parade 49, which i began work on yesterday. here's a detail of the first figure.

i received an email from a gallery in kansas about this 1984 silkscreen of mine, requesting price confirmation. she had a flood, the piece was destroyed and she needs price confirmation for the insurance. i haven't thought about this piece for a long time. it's one of a series of paintings & prints i made in the '80's, when i was a member of fischbach gallery, then located on 57th st. BELOW is a photo of the piece, which has sold at auction for $1,250.00

i have some of the original edition of 125 in my studio.
