3:27 pm: end of my painting day, start of my actionlab curriculum review.
BELOW: 3 stages of parade 48 56x68"
noon: parade 48 looks like this right now
11:14 am: just started raining. about to start painting in rather poor light.
10:17 am: a tad out of it this morning. one of those days. here's a detail of one of the new figures i painted into the parade 48 composition yesterday. in the photo i took and am drawing from for this composition, this figure was in motion, which is why he looks kind of elongated and blurry. love that. i'm getting ready to squeeze out fresh colors and get to work. it's an adventure every single day!
i tried doing some work on the curriculum pages at the house, before meditating, on my macbook air. it seems i have an outdated version of keynote, so i couldn't load the one i was working on and had put on my thumb drive yesterday before leaving my studio. and i don't have enough space on my HD to load the new version of keynote. my air is ca. 2010 with a tiny HD: 64GB. so i'm going to sell it on eBay & get a 13" air with 256GB & retina display. that will allow me to do the vid and still adjustments i need both for my painting work & for actionlab without always running out of space. i'll probably get it from B&H in NYC, who have the best prices and the most knowledgeable and helpful sales staff, plus free expedited shipping and a great price on applecare. i'd way rather give them the business than amazon, whose policies vis a vis staff salaries, etc., suck. by the way, the extra 8GB of RAM my friend martin installed on my desktop iMac last week has made a HUGE difference. no more spinning wheel of death. no more waiting. thanks martin!
at 6:15 this morning, while taking our walk, we saw this double rainbow in the western sky above the san juan mountain range across the valley. we've seen many double rainbows here, but never one at this hour, before sunrise and in the west. we had more monsoonal rain last night, the temperature was high for this hour: 56 F creating ideal conditions for mosquitoes. the past few days morning temps have beenin the 40's: too cold for them.
last night we watched the second episode of sense8, the netflix series created by the wachowsky brother & sister. we're watching it for the second time; it's that good. casting is impeccable and the music, and sound in general, is masterful. the concept is not everyones cup of tea. for me, it seems to awaken distant memories.
i'll post ore once i get to the studio and resume work on parade 48.
