3:20PM update: below is parade 42 at the end of my painting day. i'll continue work on it tomorrow morning, and update you as well on conditions at north crestone creek, which yesterday were precarious!
before i meditate and head to the studio, i'm posting these 2 shots of a small bridge about half a mile up the north crestone creek trail. from one day to the next, the bridge has been submerged by extreme volumes of water as a result of all time record precipitation in may. the resulting deep snowpack is now rapidly melting as a result of warm temps. yesterday we witnessed emergency crews attempting to divert the creek in order to prevent it flooding the town of crestone. we'll see on todays walk what the situation is. i just put together the short YouTube video, above. humble north crestone creek, or niagara falls?
5:57 PM update: THAT BRIDGE IS HISTORY. SWEPT AWAY. PICS TMORROW MORNING.
BELOW: parade 42, 24x48" as it looked yesterday at the end of my painting day
2:05 PM update: below: parade 42 at 2:05 PM. the imagery derives form photos of a sidewalk artist shot in denver in 2004. work continues; update at the end of my painting day, when we'll go for a 1.5 mile walk up north crestone creek and check out the current conditions.
