parade 6 16x16" oil & colored pencil on portrait linen availabel at gremillion & co. fine art, houston, texas
this early parade series painting was completed on september 30, 2014 and is currently at gremillion & co. fine art, houston, texas. it is characterized by it's sketchiness, with at least half the painting left as a drawing. looking at it is giving me some ideas for the upcoming paintings in this series.
the image derives from a parade in athens, greece, photographed from a second story balcony. it includes some drawing in colored pencil. this series of 16"x16" paintings, of which there area total of 20, led to the larger series, which i'm currently working on, in preparation for my november exhibition in houston.
today we're preparing for a 4 day trip to denver and vail for a series of meetings relating to our educational start-up: actionlab360, as well as continuing to pilot the product with middle school kids in edwards, near vail.
