11/3/14 slight tweak to "best left unsaid 9" & "b.l.u. 10" / by Philip Tarlow

i made a slight change in the modified best left unsaid 8 painting. going to meditate now, will post pics in an hour or so. am thinking of preparing drawing for best left unsaid 9, but first have to choose my photo to work from, i suspect i have more ariel view photos taken at museums, but need to search to find them.

11:26 am: below are shots of the completed painting. the slight tweak was to the head of the figure on the lower level in the upper left corner. if you look at yesterdays post, you'll discover that her head in that earlier stage was less differentiated from the grey horizontal band of color above her head. and that flesh has been added to her neck.  minor tweaks, but a critical to the overall coherence of the painting. it's worth clicking on the details below to get a better sense of this painting and appreciate it's sensitivity of tone and line.

and now, on to preparations for a new piece. on the right is the photo i've chosen to work from, shot at MOMA in 2008. by the way, i don't know of any professional painters who give a blow by blow history of their process of creating art, although i'm sure they're out there. at some point, these posts will be reviewed and published in book form. i'll update todays post once i've done the drawing.
