tun was a term used by lu ch'ai, northern sung landscape painter, who said that, in painting rocks, each brushstroke should move and turn, with abrupt stops (tun), sinuous as a dragon.

8/27  while working on a new painting, i kept looking at this one & realized it needs more work. the white shape in the upper portion needs to be broken up & become more dynamic.

we have a meeting tomorrow morning, so i'll likely work more on it thursday or friday.
