7/16: it's not there yet, so i'll be working on this again tomorrow morning.
7/17: jiyu creek has once again become a horizontal. it's much stronger than anything in this series to date. i'll have to sit with it for 24 hours to see if it needs more work.
7/18: today i simplified that confusingly cluttered space.
7/19: upon entering my studio this morning, my first glance indicated to me that this painting is resolved.
