6/26-7/2013 zheng creek 72x38" DAYS 1 & 2 / by Philip Tarlow

today, june 27th, upon entering the studio, this painting seemed way too busy and not at all resolved, although it has some very interesting elements. there's a pattern of this happening on day 2, so lets see how today goes.

it's hot as blazes, possibly record breaking for crestone, so i got out my swamp cooler (evaporative cooler) which is a large noisy portable device on wheels. it starts dropping my interior temps immediately and provides a far more comfortable work environment. only works in climates with low humidity, which of course we have. current humidity: 13%, likely dropping to single digits as the day progresses.

more later............

3:30 pm  we did break a record: 92.6. the old record for today: 92.

the painting went through many metamorphoses and is now resolved.
