revising the painting "undun" oct. 19, 2012 by Philip Tarlow

undun was begun in march, 2012 and started out as a series of interconnected vertical landscapes, based on small oil & gouache studies i had done at local creeks.

transitioning to the squarespace platform by Philip Tarlow

10/6/12

THIS SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION, & WILL REMAIN LIVE THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS

if you are visiting for the first time, this site is in transition, from an iWeb site (iWeb was discontinued by apple last june) to the squarespace platform.

the process is taking longer than expected and involves a steep learning curve. so there will be changes daily. new pages will be added and existing pages populated.

i will attempt to blog about this and other topics as time permits.

the actual process of creating art is of great interest to me, and i make very little distinction between that process and the finished product.

i talk about that sometimes with my son dimitri, a director/producer/actor/translator in athens. how the rehearsals, in his case, or the various stages of a painting, in mine, are as compelling as the final production of the play or the finished painting.
