6:33 pm-dekooning: in this 1950 dekooning, you can see some of the elements i so love, and which have found their way into my recent experiments with collage, one of which you see below. he extracts pieces of biomorphic drawing, scrambles them, introduces areas of color, is totally transparent about his process, borrows heavily from his friend gorky.

4:49pm update: just back from alamosa, where mikela did a presentation of actionlab360 for some adams state university profs. they were all wonderful. we ended up having lunch & will likely be collaborating with a few of them later this winter on a project here in the slv (san luis valley) involving college & high school students. on our way back, i mailed louis' collage, which he will have on monday.

this morning before leaving for alamosa, i made this collage for my dear friend louis, in gratitude for all the cool articles he sends me every week! they are mostly about art and watches, which he knows i'm passionate about.
